Class Description:
The toddler class curriculum focuses on social and personal development. Students have the opportunity for many tactile experiences, such as using playdough and finger painting. Learning to share and cooperate is very important at this age. These skills are taught through example and gentle reminders from the teacher and aide. Separation anxiety is often an issue at this age. Parents are encouraged to drop their children off with the teacher and aide and leave the classroom. If the child is inconsolable, the parent will be notified. The maximum enrollment for the toddler class is 10 students.
Fine motor skills, like holding a crayon or paintbrush are encouraged through practice. Gross motor skills are developed through playing games, movement to music and outdoor play. Each class will have free play, read stories and have a weekly chapel time in the sanctuary with Miss Bev, a member of the congregation. Children in this class are not required to be toilet trained, but will be taken to the bathroom for the opportunity to learn. No child however, will be forced to use the toilet. Learning through encouragement, play and developmentally appropriate activities are the main focus of the nursery school.

Meet the Teachers:
Miss Kim:
I'm so proud to be the toddler teacher again this year. I am so thankful to be with these little cuties and see them progress through the year helping them to feel safe and comfortable and have fun playing and learning together. I love to see them run in the door to school with a big smile each day or help them get to that point when they are adjusting to being away from mom and dad for the first time. I am a proud mom of KOK graduates with my daughter 14 years old, and son 8 years old, both part of the KOK family that long! KOK has given me some of my best memories as my own children have grown here and now. I am privileged to help your kids grow and learn too.

Miss Jenny:
This is my second year working at Kids of the Kingdom, and I am beyond excited to meet and grow with all of you. Miss Kim and I made an amazing team last year. I'm so happy to be in toddlers with her again. I worked at the YMCA, Sunbury Branch, for three years. I have a wide range of experience with children. I've been around children my whole life, from my niece and nephews, to my own three children; Ezra age 6, Azarai age 5, and Emmett age 3. I adore watching them explore the world around them. My children and I have a deep faith and I can't wait to share that connection with all of you this year.
